Her labour intensive and tactile making process is present in the work and there is a sense of personal investment and a deep focus on the act of making. The underlying pencil grid structures which are left exposed, mapping the thoughts and decisions which have shaped the piece. These imaginary structures contain a sense of something seen and experienced, allowing for new meaning to emerge in the play between observation and memory. They are a commentary on man-made structures existing within the natural world, the poetry of space, quiet celebrations of materials and textures and intimate places for contemplation.

Anne Harild is a Danish artist who creates film animations, site-specific installations and collages. She investigates the inherent use of architectural structures and their physical appearances in her work. Informed by the urban and natural environment she plays with grids, lines, angles, geometric shapes and textures, resulting in constructions we see, experience and encounter in our cities and open expanses.
