The purple straw blocks, make evident his transformative approach to using straw and highly pigmented emulsion paint. This opus hovers between art and design and gives off a sense of purpose build models, resonating with the texture of his sticker wall, as we can see  photographs.

Simultaneously, it was also a period when Zimmermann became enthusiastically occupied with painted stickers which he attached directly onto walls - like a memory board - creating stunning patterns and effects. These affixed vinyl markers have come full circle connecting with his poster walls from the 1994.

Peter Zimmermann (born 1956) counts among the most acknowledged pioneers and conceptional representatives of Media Art. He combines complex graphic algorithms with his preferred materials, among them we find stickers, epoxy resin, acrylic- and oil paints.
