The modern global world has transformed into a construct of synthesized clip art. Fragments of thoughts, images and news intermingle grotesquely with daily life. In truth, are we still able to appreciate and absorb life in this fast-moving environment? Consequently, it can be argued that the new demand on art is the expectation of a fulfilling experience when visiting an exhibition in a museum or gallery.
'Inverse – Evoke: Art and Text' presents the works by seven contemporary artists: Pip Dickens, Annabel Dover, Christina Eberhart, Maryvonne Holzer, Soon Yul Kang, Jeff Lowe, and Ernesto Romano. Each artist uses paper as medium and applies different techniques and skills to create their unique depictions. A number of Haiku poems and Taoist quotations complement a selection of works on paper with text to reference civilisation. The exhibition invites visitors to explore the juxtaposed artistic expressions with wordings from different eras and cult, offering a poetic and imaginative journey.
