The gallery talk is focused on the works of four Southeast Asian artists: Nguyen van Cuong, Bui van Huan, Em Riem and Guo Hongwei. Each artist grew-up in a country that was exposed to major political upheaval during the 20th century. The presented paintings explore their cultural connections and their experiences in dealing with the aftermath of war. Their distinct styles communicate native subject matters of beauty, sincerity and innocence, instead of a radical response.
